This event was hosted by the Micro School Network (microschools.com). It highlighted innovation exploding on the global stage, surrounding learner-centered education in micro schools of less than 200 pupils.

Micro schools, hybrid/hubs and homeschool education are expanding globally. The event explored this trend with a mix of workshops and discussions on the accountability and flexibility of micro school models. It was a lively event, bringing together researchers, presenters and educators from around the world working in the alternative education space to reimagine the future of education.

Tim Viera from the Brave Generation Academy discussed the origin of this Portuguese-based hub model of education that has exponentially grown to 61 school hubs in 12 countries since opening in 2020. With the flexibility of an all-year school calendar, these hubs are also operating in two refugee camps in Kenya and expanding to online learners. Learners can swap going to different schools/hubs nationally.
